Amarnath Yatra: Div Com reviews Yatra preparedness | KNO

Anantnag, May 28 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting of officers here today to review the preparedness for the smooth conduct of Shri AmarnathJi Yatra-2019. The meeting was attended by Director Health Services Kashmir, Director Disaster Management, Director School Education Kashmir, Director Animal Husbandry, Chief Engineer M&RE Kashmir, Director Urban Development, Addl. Commissioner Kashmir and GM works Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). Besides, SSP Anantnag, ADDC, ADCs, CEO PDA, SE PDD, R&B, PHE & other concerned officers also attended the meeting. The Divisional Commissioner directed the Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority to ensure snow clearance from the track on priority. He directed for a daily report of track clearance along with photographic evidence. He directed for special focus on slippery tracks/ areas near Nagakoti, Wavovbal top, and other critical spots including camping sites of Sheshnag, Panjtarni and Holy cave. He stressed for completion of pre-fabricated structures, restoration of track, erection of rallying by 15th June 2019. Regarding Healthcare facilities from Chandanwadi to Holy cave, the Div Com directed for stocking a sufficient quantity of life-saving drugs, adequate number of oxygen cylinders, ECG and X-Ray facilities and availability of critical care ambulance. He directed the DC Anantnag to designate Nodal Officers for camp sites, track clearance and material procurement so that all arrangements will be put in place before the commencement of Yatra. He further directed to ensure proper sanitation in and around Transit Camps and Halting stations and maintaining cleanliness of entire track en-route to the Holy Cave. He stressed to ensure decomposition of wastes through Solid Waste Management Technique. The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir emphasized upon the line departments to ensure proper registration of Pony wallas, Labours, Dandiwallas, and other service providers well before the commencement of Yatra and to provide due representation to locals in the registration process. The Director Disaster Management was asked to start Mock drill, tabletop exercise immediately in collaboration with district administration. The Div Com directed to keep sufficient teams of NDRF available from Chandanwadi to Holy Cave with necessary equipment. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir, who is also the District Yatra Officer Anantnag apprised the meeting through a Power Point Presentation regarding the arrangements to be put in place for smooth conduct of SANJY-2019. He said that a Joint Control Room at Pahalgam shall be made functional ten days before commencement of Yatra, representatives of Police and connected Civil Departments shall remain present 24x7 to meet any exigency. The DC informed that transit camps at Walnut Factory, Qazigund and FCI Godown Mir Bazar with a capacity of 2000 devotees will be made functional with all basic requirements like drinking water, toilet facility before 10 days of the commencement of the Yatra 2019. Similarly, the camps from Nunwan, Chandiwadi, Zojipal, Pissu Top, Sheshnag, Maha Gunus Top, Poshpatri, Panjtarni, Holy Cave will be made functional before five days of the commencement of SANJY 2019. It was further informed that out of the 32km track from Chandanwadi to Holy cave, snow has been cleared from 16 km long track. He also informed that tendering process has already been completed by PDA and necessary repairs, patching of the track will be started after the snow clearance of the track. The DC further stated that draw of lots for 2330 tents, 170 shops for service providers including tentwallahs, shopkeepers will be made within a week’s time, which includes 400 tents, 35 shops at Base camp Nunwan, 800 tents, 50 shops at Sheshnag, 900 tents, 50 shops at Panjtarni and 180 tents & 35 shops at Holy cave.(KNO)
